Getting back an ex is hard if you were the one being dumped. On the flip side, imagine how you would feel if you were the one who did the dumping? That is just where Sandy found herself when she had to try and get back with ex, after she dumped him.
It started when Sandy’s so called friend Amy told her that her boyfriend George had been cheating on her with another woman. Instead of discussing this rumor with George, Sandy accused him of having an affair. George was taken by surprise and did not have much opportunity to defend himself before Sandy unceremoniously dumped him.
Later, Sandy discovered that Amy had lied about the affair for her own jealous and petty reasons. Now Sandy was at a loss. She wanted to get back with ex, but was not sure how she should go about doing that.
So Sandy called George and tried to explain what had happened, unfortunatly George was very hurt by Sandy’s lack of trust in him.
To get back with ex Sandy was going to have to try harder.
Sandy wrote George a long letter of apology. She took responsibility for what happened and reminded George of some of the wonderful times they had together. She explained that she was not ready to throw the relationship away and that she had reacted the way she did because she loved him and could not stand the thought of him being with another woman.
She mailed the letter and then left him alone. She knew that to get back with ex would require giving him a little space to figure out how he felt.
If she did bump in to George she kept the conversation pleasant and casually mentioned positive memories of the two of them. She did not apologize any further as she had already apologized twice and decided to let it go at that.
One day, Sandy got two tickets for George’s favorite band which was in town for one concert only. She asked George to accompany her as a friend. She opened the door to get back with ex without being pushy.
To get back with ex after you have behaved badly and dumped him is difficult. Not only do you have the embarrassment of having to apologize, but you almost have to start from scratch again on the relationship. Rebuilding the trust is a key component in this period.
George and Sandy did eventually get back together. George came to see that Sandy’s outburst was the act of a jealous woman who deeply loved him. He saw it as a mistake that they could both grow from. Their relationship became stronger than ever.
Sandy took the right approach to get back with ex.
